Swiss Snowsport School Rigi Skiing has a long tradition on Mount Rigi. It was Rosa Dahinden-Pfyl, known as the Snowrose, who in 1906 initiated the first ski courses on Mt. Rigi and persuaded the Vitznau Rigi Railway to operate in winter. The Rigi therefore ranks as one of the pioneers of winter sport.
