Fisherman's Dream

Catch a big fish from the clear waters of Lake Lucerne.

The fishing area of Weggis comprises of 12 km of lake shore, varying in distance from 100 m to 460 m, from the shore to the open lake. The fishing society of Weggis has leased 3/4 of this area since 1999 so that anglers can enjoy a virtually net-free fishing zone.

The fishing area of Vitznau comprises of 5 km along the lake shore. Fishing is permitted 200 m from the shore to the open lake. Fishing is forbidden in the local Altdorfbach and M�hlebach streams.

As in other lake resorts, a fundamental right to fish, free of charge, exists. No permit is required if fishing with a rod, simple hook, gloat and natural bait from the lake shore. All other forms of fishing require a permit which is available from the local tourist offices or Boutique Robinson.
